Hello
I hope i don't upset anyone with this question.
I own a 39 Chevy coupe. The front suspension currently is a solid axle (homebrewed) & not safe to use.I would like a IFS like mustangll type, however these are few & far between nowdays. The budget won't allow to purchase new IFS.
So does anyone know of a modern IFS that would graft on to the '39 frame?? I have some great junkyards in the area..
Thanks Bruce

Grafting IFS under the 39 wont make it any safer than the original beam axle and probably much easier to do.

Thanks for your response. The axle in my car is not the original, looks like a truck axle ie 6 lug hubs etc.
I'm not sure what was factory. Are you suggesting a stock '39 solid axle?? Not sure i'd ever find something like that..
Whats in there now is not safe, broken welds & more bad welds..a mess..Thank you for your interest. Bruce

All 1929-1948 Chevrolet cars had 6 lug wheels.
The 1939 Master 85 had a straight axle.
