I don't see any way to get a wrench on the adjustment screws and stop nuts on my 33 without removing the driver floorboard; is this actually the case? The repair manual seems leave out a lot of preliminary steps required to do any job. For instance; it explains in detail how to install brake lining on the brakes and doesn't bother telling you how to get to that point, not does it tell you anything about installing the brakes. I guess "books for idiots" weren't available. It is apparent that I need one.

George, just remember that those shop manuals were written for Experianced and trained Chevrolet mechanics that needed the specific instructions the factory felt was needed on a as need basis, the minor details were sometimes skipped over in order to get to the "Nitty-Gritty"

Thank you MrMack,
But I would like to know if it really is necessary to remove the floorboard to adjust the clutch.

George, Sorry about that, but I don't know a lot about a 33, guess I should have kept my mouth shut. Eh?
OK, I am ducking, dropping and rolling, and running!

Thank you Chevgene.
Don't worry about it MrMack, we love you anyway.
I have a 1929-1942 Parts and Price List, but most of the parts illustrations have little relevance to my 1933. Would it be a good idea to get the 1929-1932 Parts an Price List from F/S for a more accurate depiction of what I actually have and refer to the 29-42 for part numbers? Or, is there a better book for which to look?

Thank you Gentlemen, Chevgene, my parts book has an effective date of 2 March 1942 and does list the parts for my 33, but the illustrations are not of those parts. I have a Crank-n-Hope 32-36 Mechanics book which shows the 1933 modification and Chevrolet part numbers for cars suffering from chronic clutch chatter, my car doen't have it nor does it seem need it. I just have zero free play which, besides inviting clutch slipage, makes shifts a little jerky because of anticipation of engagement. JunkYardDog, I will be looking for a parts list with a more limited scope. George

Hey Gene, I have a Master Parts Book dated March 15, 1936, it has both chassis & body sections with page tabs for quick reference and is in a genuine Chevrolet leather binder. I also have the same books in bound form Book 1 is Chassis and Book 2 is Body. The modern Group Number system started in '37 or '38.
