This will sound like a complaint but I want to provide information for future judges. Pam had her Camaro in the HPOCF class. When the Judges arrived she asked if they needed her to answer any questions and they assured her that they were fine. She left to go do her assigned duties. When she got her judging form back a week or so ago it showed that she had been marked off for "Z-28" wheels. I thought it was humorous, Pam less so. Let me explain the difference. When she ordered the car in 1977 she ordered the optional wheels which have a bowtie on the center cap. The Z-28 wheels are identical except, you guessed it, they have a Z-28 on the center cap. Moral of the story: When you are judging any car, not just HPOCF, if you don't know and none of your team members know, don't mark it off. I hope this is taken not as a complant, but as an observation.

Thats the way VCCA judging goes.
There are thousands of models and millions of options in the 100 years of Chevrolet cars. I am surprised the the judges even noticed the "special" wheels. In the HPOCF class it would not have beeen enough to kick the car out of the exterior department or what ever the wheels fall into. Next time I would place a sign on the car explaining the wheels or any other not too common options.

Monte, you are encouraged to express concerns about how the vehicle was judged or certified. That is why we return your forms. Guys, let's not be to rough on our volunteer judges. I must say that the Flint judging, with a couple of exceptions was quite accurate and consistent. Monte is right you must ask when you don't know. The HPOCF certification team was "manned" by some pretty experienced judges. Many of our members are not familiar with the '70s cars and there is a need for presentations at judging schools to educate our membership on these vehicles because they are going to continue to increase in attendance over the next few years. At the next meet have your wife mention the wheels to the team prior to certification and if she has a dealer brochure, have her place it on the front seat on the back page where they show the wheels. thanku

Monte,

To add to what Steve is saying, Have Pam write it down on the form that the wheels were special ordered for the Camaro.
