#217029 - 08/22/11 11:45 AM '58 Steering Shaft Coupler?
62BillT Backyard Mechanic Registered: 08/30/07 Posts: 258 Loc: Moneta, VA	I have heard that taking apart a Steering Coupler on a '58 Steering Shaft risks the chance of ruining it. Trying to decide whether to try to take it apart or just leave it on there and change the whole column with the coupler attached. Anyone out there familiar with this? Any info would be aprreciated. Bill

dandyd Oil Can Mechanic Registered: 12/26/01 Posts: 646 Loc: Arlington, Tx.	Bill, In the assembley plant if we needed to replace the steering column we always seperated the column at the lower spline. We never seperated the coupling to remove the column.
