The vin # on the title for my 4 pass coupe is the correct number (according to information from 3 different sources). My problem is that I cannot locate the vin tag in any of the possible places. The car is in original, unrestored condition. There never was a tag anywhere on the inside of the cowl, or on the floor board. There is a folding jump seat for the front passenger ...so there is no wooden seat frame to nail the plate to. The engine number was never stamped on the block. The state of Nebraska wants to assign a shiny new 2011 number on the title. The car has had the correct vin # on the title for the past 87 years and I dont want to loose it. HELP!!!

Maybe you could buy a new tag with that number stamped on it and find a location to display it. Remember to have the number preceded with a suitable plant code and model letter.

I agree! Get a replacement plate with the correct numbers and attach it where ever you want. A little sanding, ground in mud or "antiquing" to the plate might help sell it to the authorities.
