Can anyone tell me how to tell if safety glass has been installed in a 32?

Look at the edge of the glass. If there is a line in the middle it is safety plate. If no line where two pieces of glass are sandwiched on a plastic film then it is plate glass (not safety).

Like Chipper said, for safety glass, view the glass edge-on. You should see a laminating layer between two pieces of glass.

It can be checked out by observing the edge of the glass and the lamination layer.
