Who and how is the Best of the Best chosen? I do not have a dog in this fight I would just like to know the process. I received the Restoration of the Year in 1966. At that time it was determined by the BOD.

If your car was best in show at a VCCA sanctioned meet then you were put in the running for the "Best of the Best". And also I believe that you had to have 975 points or more on your judging sheet.

Back Roads, Sal is correct. A vehicle that is selected at a National Meet for the Best of Show Award is then eligble to compete for the selection to the National "Best of the Best" Award. A selection committee, appointed by the National Board of Directors is formed in October. Members of the committee consist of the past year's chief judges, and members at large. A chair is selected and is in charge of contacting members inviting them to participate and send in photos and fill out information on their vehicles. The committee then reviews the photos and information submitted and selects the award winners by January. Last year's chair was Paul Dimbath from Florida, who did a fantastic job, by the way. The BOB Award has been active since 2008. This year's revised judging manual will have information on this award. Hope that helps answer some of your questions.
