If you have not purchased the 3M product, you can first try plain old Mineral Spirits, Naptha, Final Clean, lighter fluid, Turtle wax Bug and Tar Remover.
The 3M product is a blend of solvents, so why spend more money on something you probably have but just don't know it.
The solvents will plasticate and soften the rubber based adhesive and make it easier to remove. The solvents will also soften and basically chemically ruin rubber or foamed rubber weatherstrip as well. The rubber/adhesive will swell and get slimy.
As usual, wear protective gloves as you all should know that solvents are absorbed by the skin and have a direct affect on Kidneys, Liver and our nervous system. Save these organs for longer life and possibly, "Drinking" once and a while.
I have some experience in this area as I have spent the last 27 years of my career formulating adhesives and coatings. I too have violated the glove policy when I was younger. A friend of mine now 75 yrs old is suffering from damage to his nervous system from using solvents over long periods of time without PPE (Personal Protective Equipment. As a Rresult, his quality of life has been altered permanently.
Good luck and I hope this information helps.

If it is the black 3M stuff, mineral spirits will dissolve the glue and not harm automotive paint. If it is the yellow stuff, I have no idea.
