8850: 1929 Standard Sedan

O: "O" represents the Oakland, California factory.

4952: 4,952nd Standard Sedan made in the Oakland factory in 1929.

473051: That appears to be the engine serial number and not the Car Serial Number (VIN). By the way, the early Chevrolets did not have a "VIN" number. The number was actually called a "Car Serial Number" and it was stamped on a small plate that was attached to the passenger side wood main sill, under the floor mat, facing the passenger door.

The block casting number 835501 is a '29 or '30 block. I suspect that the date code is D 23 9 or April 23 1929. O was not used as it would have been the 15th month in the year.
