On the '94 chevy lumina car in my previous post http://vcca.org/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/191025/Newer_car_question#Post191025

the gas pedal is still sticky. I cleaned out the throttle body as suggested REALLY good and it did have some gunk but the pedal still sticks. I tryed a little oiling with lite oil around the throttle mechanism but still sticky.

What should i think about now?

If if you look at the throttle plate with it closed and slowly open it can you see a wear spot where it might be binding. If so you my have to adjust the throttle stop screw. If I remember right the head is recessed and covered, but you can see the threaded part that the throttle stops on. If the head is covered you will have to drill out the plug, and it should take an allen wrench to adjust it. Do not go very far because that is not for idle speed, the idle air control motor does that. You do not need to put the plug back in if it had one.

You may want to unhook the tv cable from the throttle arm and see if your sticking goes away. I've seen those cables bad causing a sticking throttle. Don't drive the car with it unhooked, it will not shift right with it disconnected.

Well looks like turning the screw in solved the trouble. Had to turn the screw in a half turn ti'll it corrected the problem and i still have apropriate idle.

Thanks '41!
