I have a 1928 1 ton farm truck This truck has a wooden cab. It seems that all of the photos that I have seen have steel cabs. Can anyone explain what models came with or without steel cabs and what I really have.
Thanks
Paul

Thanks Chipper
I assume that the dealer who sold the truck sent the frame, fenders, hood, to a reginal supplier who put on the cab?
I will look for some type of identification on the cab to determine who built the cab.
Thanks for your help

I have an Oldsmobile 1 ton truck that was sold as a cowl and chassis new. The original owner bought the cab through a company called Lindsay Bros, in Minneapolis and put it on himself and also built the flair side grain box himself. They were like the sears roebuck of farm equipment. Not sure who built them for Lindsay. Chevy did the same thing and it gave the owner of a new truck flexibility to make the truck suit his needs. As the market dictated Chevy and other companys started to build standard cabs and sell them without beds. My 28 chevy LO 1 ton was sold as a cab and chassis. The flatbed with grain box sides bed was added later.

Thanks Bob
I thought that that may be the case. I would bet that this truck was purchased locally in central Nebraska and then the cab was placed in Omaha?. I will check to see if I can find an identification marker on the cab. Do you have any photos of your truck that are available?
Thanks
Paul
