Its called the multi-function switch. Its the dimmer switch and directional switch and a few other things. Replacement requuires removing the steering wheel and there is a danger of setting off the air bag in the process not to mention the special tools you will need.
relocation of dimmer switch from floor pan( left of the brake/clutch) to the directional switch has been a major pain in the butt from my perspective. replacing a 5-10 dollar toeboard dimmer switch( even my hopelessly mechanically challanged departed dad could accomplish) verses some Goodwrench technican tearing into a steering col to get at the switch, is an enginnering mis-accomplishment. One of the reasons i prefer old chevy.mike
If I am understanding correctly, it can be replaced with the old "toeboard" dimmer switch? Would that like be the one I have on my '58 Chevy? Mine was frozen up and I had ordered a replacement one. Just would have find the right wires to splice into.
Will a cross over pipe from a 348 and 409, fit on a 235 six cylinder? I am looking to do duel exhaust on my single. I don't think the 235 came out with a duel exhaust. Suppose to be from a '58 Impala.
anything can be made "to fit" but your example would be an exercise in futility. best way to add dual exhaust is to acquire a pair of fenton cast iron dual exhaust headers, then fabricate the header pipes(local muffler shoips have tubing benders). nothing sounds better than a chevy six bander with dual exhaust, not even a Duntov cam'd 283 at idle. good luck, mike
