You could remove the side cover and mark a tooth with a marker, then count them as you rotate the gears.
The gear to count is the main drive gear (input shaft).
It has more teeth than a std gear. It is also a larger diameter that makes it as large or larger than the bearing.
Been a long time since I had one apart, but I think you have to remove it from the rear of the case. A regular ratio gear can be removed from the front of the case.
It and the cluster front gear, are the two gears that are the close ratio.
