Is the leak on the outside of the block? Do you see a crack? If on the outside "pinning" is likely the best fix. Drill holes along the crack, cut threads with a tap and install "pins" Once the pins cover the entire distance, including the gaps between first set of "pins" the block should be stable and also leak free.
Some have used epoxy, like JB Weld, to fill the crack with good long term success.
I don't recommend brazing or welding unless you find an expert that will guarantee his work.
