The radiator for my 1930 needs major repair or replacement.
The local radiator shop says it is unlikely it can be repaired. They tell me they can't repair it due to EPA regs. restricting lead-based solder (melts at a lower temp. than what they are allowed to use). I need advice on repair or where I can get a replacement (need not be an exact match). I am located near Seattle and a member of Region 3 VCCA.

That is a line of BS they are giving you. We don't have any rules for RoHS in the US at this time. It is only over in the EU that RoHS is a rule. Call one of the local Puget Sound members and they can tell you were to go.

You can also buy a new core from the Filling Station. (NOT CHEEP! cool)

sounded it fishy to me too.
i did mine with 50/50 solder.( i recored mine myself)
there was no way i would let anybody touch my 1000$ core
it sounds like they don`t want to work with an old radiator.

A friend and I just purchased a bunch of '30 parts. In that pile are 3 or 4 radiators and cores. We are just down here in the Portland Region if you want to come look at them. Send a PM if you are interested.
