31Cab Grease Monkey Registered: 09/07/10 Posts: 4 Loc: Newark, DE	I have a 31 Cabriolet I am losing transmission oil through the speedometer cable connection. should any oil be coming out of the transmission at that conection? should there be an internal seal in the trans?

Chipper Registered: 11/22/01 Posts: 10239 Loc: The Great State of TEXAS	Make a felt seal that looks like a doughnut with the center hole large enough for the shaft to fit through and outside diameter the same and the ID of the collar. Make it thick enough to fill the cavity when the cable is attached to the transmission. If you use the proper viscosity transmission lubricant it will not leak. _________________________ How Sweet the roar of a Chevy four!
