Anyone ever painted the hubcaps on their '55 or '56? What is the best way to paint the middle black? Lots of taping?

I was also thinking about using a light coating of oil or grease on the emblem so I don't have to tape it off.

How about painting it Factory style? Make a template of the bowtie and circle, (or however it's supposed to go) and then spray paint over it, leaving the slight over spray that factory caps had. Taping is nice, but close inspection will show. Of course on the other hand, who's gonna know WHAT you did while you're DRIVING?
