I need a diagram of a 1968 Chevrolet Impala Horn relay. Or at least where the wires connect to the relay. I can find several numbers next to the terminals. There are two terminals with screw contacts (Battery?) and a pair of #3 spade terminals (horns?) and a single spade terminal (Horn button?)
I have the old relay on the car and a new aftermarket replacement relay. The new one is a:Standard TRU-TECH HR140T.

There are:
two 8-32 screw terminals marked #5 (battery?)

a single spade terminal marked #4 (horn button?)

a pair of spade terminals inside an insulated spade terminal marked #3 (horns?)

I want to mount the new relay and test it to see if the wire going to the horn buttons may be shorted because now the horns blow without touching the horn buttons on the steering wheel. I will have the steering wheel off so that I can install a new electronic cruise control and turn signal switch. I would like to do it all in one sitting if possible.
Thanks,

Hi Mack,
Make SURE your steering horn button assembly is functioning properly.I've seen this in the past where the white plastic insulating pieces under the steering wheel crack from age and go to ground making those horns sing non stop.I've never seen the green wire go bad from the relay to the horns. It's not very long and is easy to lift out and give it a visual for chaffed or broken insulation if you feel certain about it.
FWIW- Chevy full size 63-68 horn relay wiring should be the same,in case you have one of those years of factory service manuals on hand. Jim
