The NC Dept of Motor Vehicles want to inspect my auto before I can register. I have the ID plate and have not put it on car. The fisher body one is on the firewall. The ID I know is supposed to go on the passenger floor. Does anyone know exactly where.? The inspector wants to look at tomorrow . He also wanted to know if motor ser# and vehicle ID match. Are they supposed to? Where is motor ID # at?

Bob Illinois is doing this to me on a car I got (1923 t bucket) some states give you plates with bill of sale. NH, TX and others, They are looking for things to do so they can get paid. Nothing on mine matches in fact its a 1960s corvette engine so they get more to look at. Good Luck Ken

Bob here are pics of my 1927 chevy tags and location hope that helps. I would not worry about matching numbers I cannot imagine that they could conclude anything if they do not, but yes they can spend time doing something when they should have more important things. Ken

Hi Bob, My 1925 Sedan has the ID plate on the drivers side shown below. Look at your seat frame to see if you have corresponding nail holes. Roger
