Where can I see step by step instructions for uploading a photo to the photo section? I tried over and over with no success. I reduced the picture to 85 wide by 62 high at 3.6 KB. It is in JPG format. I have no trouble attaching it to email. First I click on NEW IMAGE then fill out the Subject and description. Next, I click on IMAGE MANAGER and then BROWSE. After choosing the photo I click on open. It goes back to the FILE MANAGER which says you can attach 3 photos MAX. FILE SIZE IS 1 MB. When I preview the post there is no photo. I sent an email to one of THE HELPFUL VOLUNTEERS (I will not mention the name) over a week ago but did not even get a reply. Can anyone give me a clue?

I can't find anywhere the secret steps needed to have an image appear in an actual post (imbedded?). I can get a link to be in the post (see below), but not an image directly showing as part of the message. The photos are a great help in both questions and answers.

Where am I not looking?

Thanks.

Let me see....

If I add your link from above, and make sure that it ENDS WITH .JPG

I'll be danged... it works.

Here's the ONLY part of your link that I used:

Well how about that. I'll be danged right along with you, Bill.

Thanks for the quick reply. I did look a long time trying to solve this on my own. Maybe this would make a good addition to the Chat's FAQ-Help area.

OK, I'm gonna try this again, to get it imbedded into my ol' bean. We'll see if my '63 Rampside shows up.

Well, it didn't like that link. I'll try another one.

Here's my '46 Panel when it was a youngster.

There's a gremlin at work here, and he's taking advantage of my lack of sleep. We'll try again tomorrow.

Thanks, Bill.

When you start a new post,
Click on the fourth icon from the left.
It will say "Insert a non-floating image"
Then enter your URL into the popup box.

The format will be this:

So, maybe selecting Non-Floating is the key. Now I'll try that.

Nope. Gremlin still at work.

Here's a novel idea. I'll just copy and paste the exact one from several posts above, that you got to work. The one that you took off the extra stuff at the end, down to where it ended with only .jpg. We'll see how that does.

Thanks so much for your patience here, Bill.

Well, still not making the image pop up.

Whoops, now I see that I have left the little img's off each end. So, here goes again.

BINGO !!!! YE-HAA !!!! It worked! There's my photo right in my post.

I love computers. They are so darn picky.

When I put it in just as you said, with at the end, it worked.

So, the key steps might be as follows:

How To Get A Photo to Appear Directly in a Post

1. Put your photos on an online photo sharing service like Photobucket (there are several of these services). The photos should be in .jpg format. Be sure they are not too big a file size, not over 35 Kb.

2. You will notice, when you right-click on one of your photos on that online site, there's an option to copy the image location. Copy it.

3. Open up a new post or reply on the VCCA Chat site, and choose the fourth icon in from the left, to Enter An Image.

4. Select Non-Floating Image from the drop-down menu.

5. Paste, into the Image box, the link to your photo location that you Copied from the online photo sharing site.

6. Look at the link you just pasted in. It has to end with .jpg If not, delete any extra stuff at the end of the link, down to where it ends with .jpg

7. Add at the end. No spaces. Your entry must be in this format:

8. When your post appears, where ever you have placed this in the other wording in the post, the photo you have linked to will appear.

Cool. Worth about a thousand words.

I'll try another one here:

There it is. Can see it it the Preview. Works great!

Thanks, Web Master/Guru Bill Barker. We all appreciate this great chat site.

Great - another convert!!! Please pass the collection plate! bigl

Some people call this a LEARNING CURVE that you have to go up. But I'd rather think of it as small SPEED BUMPS. And once you get over them... it's NO BIG DEAL any longer.

Great!!! Enjoy and post often! (No extra charge.)

Here's one.

I see you have it figured out with the great help of BB. This process might be worthy of a tech tip???
