I have a block, the only problem is the left forward casting where head bolt screws in is cracked, will have to be welded. I checked clearances including I.D. of cylinder walls, they seem to be right at original spec. 150 plus shipping for block, pistons, etc. Call if interested. 720 232 4664. email: delongxaamsncm

I would not recommend putting a 1929 block in a 1932 Cabriolet.

Can someone tell me what "electrofluxed" is? I have heard this before but am not familiar with the process. Thanks.

Electroflux is a brand name for "magnetic partical inspection"
Magnaflux is another company name aswell. It uses magnetising of the part for inspecting of cracks and other discontinuities in iron based metal. An iron fillings powder or liquid is spread over the part once magnetised, and it atracts to any crack in the part.

Fluorescent dyes can also be use in conjunction with the iron fillings, and then the part is inspected with a Black Light in a darkened booth. The cracks are then shown as fluorescent glowing lines.

Hello king32,
Has the thrown rod in your engine broken through the block?
If it has only scored the bore it is possible to resleeve just the damaged cylinder.
The www.fillingstation.com sells cylinder sleeves for 1932 194 engines.
You may be able to save your engine if the crank is not damaged. It will probably need new rings and pistons unless you have recently rebuilt your engine.

Thanks for the info. But yes it came though the block. Looking at putting in a 34 engine and trans.

If you want an engine,

1) Post an ad in the Parts Wanted section of this forum
and
2) Submit an ad to be printed in the G&D. It's FREE for all VCCA members.
ok
Those two actions will get your request out to what is probably the largest population of early Chevy owners in the world.

That's why we're called "The World's Best Chevrolet Club".

I would follow Bills advise and only add to be patient as there are engines out there. When I was looking for one for my 32 I bought a 31 thinking I wouldn't find a 32 engine. With in a year I purchased two of them.
