i have 2 carbs that say tillotson( DY9B and JR5)does any one know if they go to a 490. as far as i know its supposed to have a zinith carb.they are on intakes that look like the one thats on the motor.

The Zenith 0-4-1" is correct for the early 490's , and then the later 490's used a Zenith T-4-1". The others are after market replacement carburetors for updraft applictions.

It was only Zenith used originally to the 490. If you need one I have a (as far as I know) good working Zenith for sale.

i do have one on one of my engines but i dont know the condition yet. im still going through stuff right now. trying to get it all inventoried. i hope to play with motors next weekend. ill see then what kind of shape every thing is in then. but i just might need it. thanks for the offer. hopefully ill get my club membership stuff soon so i can show some pics to you all. thx for all your help, its been very refreshing to have some input be people who know these cars.
