I am looking at a 1928 Chevy 5 pass Coach. Car is complete and assembled and only needs exterior paint. Body is straight, primed and ready for paint and has new metal front fenders and new metal running boards. Runs/drives good, new interior installed, new roof installed, like new chrome.
Questions;
Does $5500 seem like a good price?
Are mechanical parts hard to find for 1928s?
Is this engine, tranny, diff dependable?
Thanks for your help!

I bought my 28 coach because parts are so very hard to find for my 24 Olds. Parts for a 28 Chevy are easy to get by comparison. I drive my coach around town and on an occasional jaunt to another town for no more reason than just to drive it. Bad thing is I should have checked out the wood better! The sheet metal and mechanics were very good, BUT the wood at the back of the car is gone and also the hinge pillars, Bet there will be more bad when I dig into it. Oh well, I can get new wood already cut and ready to install. I will just have to quit driving it while that work goes on. I tell everyone who wants a 20s car to get a Chevy if they don't want a "dime a dozen" Ferd because the parts are out there. I already have more into my car than it is worth, but who cares, I plan on enjoying it for years and years to come. Taking a bunch of people on a trip to the woods in the 28 is priceless.

Thanks Bob!
And thanks for the suggestion on looking closer at the wood. My 36 Truck has very little wood, so replacing it was easy. I imagine that replacing wood on a 28 is a big job.

My 36 truck was fine for just my wife and I before we had three kids. So, "Taking a bunch of people on a trip to the woods" is exactly why I am interested in getting a 5 passenger car.

I am starting a restore on a 28 Nat 2dr.Do you know where I could find rear fenders, rocker and running board aprons ? Tried Howel sheet metal, all they did was take my money and not ship the parts.
Thanks
