Hi Kristen and welcome to Chevy Chatter II, This is a fairly common question about these older models. The number on the title could be either from the motor number or the car serial number. Per se, there is no VIN number as it used today. Here is a link to the 34 Owner's Manual. This will tell you where the numbers can be found. http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/chevyowner/34omindex.htmIf you are looking for the car serial number, it may very well be missing. These were just small metal plates nailed to the floor board on the passenger side. There are some people who make replacement plates, but I don't know what the legal issuses would be in just replacing the plate. That being said, I do know of some individuals who have done just that. Good luck with your car, and once again, welcome. Happy Motoring, Dan
