Is there any way to align the headlight doors to the grill, my drivers side lined up perfect but the passenger side is almost a quarter of an inch to low, Thanks Denny

Denny,
I just check thru my manual disc and I can't find anything. I know I saw it but it was a while ago. Isn't the rs headlight door mounted on the fender? If so, could you adjust the fender higher with a shim? Or maybe the grille needs to be lower? I have a 68 SS/rs, but without getting under the front end I can't tell.
On my car I know there is a vertical hinge with what looks like one pin top to bottom. There are also brackets to the back of the headlight door assembly. Could the brackets be a little bent?
I'd like to help, but will need to check it out. Mine line up right on and I know how you feel. It's a major eyesore if they are out of line.

Ok Denny, I did find my accessory manual today. It says that the doors have 4 adjusting screws on the back of them.

Denny,
The manual says;
"The door covers have 4 screws threaded into caged nuts." (I have to assume that they are the phillips screws that you see on the front of the doors) "These nuts have up to .090" movement for door cover adjustment when the doors are loosened. Use this adjustment to square the door in the opening by measuring clearance .025"-.050" all the way around."
It continues;
"If the door assembly is cocked at an angle (down or up) in the opening, shim the assembly at it's radiator support mounting screws."
It contunues;
"Adjustment of the limit switch, if needed, can be obtained by slotting the mounting bracket holes with a round file. This should be used only when the other adjustments fail to provide better than marginal clearance around door."
..."1967-69 Camaro RS "Consol, gauge,& headlight wiring diagram manual"

I hope this helps you out. Good luck.
