If you are talking about pushing on the outside of the wiper trans to tighten the cables and it won't stay tight, then the wiper trans needs replaced.

I also use the boxing term "right cross " when it come to remembering which pair of cable are crossed to make the blades go in the opposite direction.

Try pushing in on the wiper trans end, release
and then pull on one of the RH cables under the dash to see if they hold or slip.

Hope this helps. You do have a shop manual for your car don't you?
ne cable to see if the trans slips.

I will give that a try! i hope it works. I don't have a manual of any kind. My dad always talked about a father son project when i was little. now that i have money I thought if i bought something it would help move the idea along, but it did not. So now im stuck with it, im in no hurry. im am very glad i got the car i loved as a child. thanks for the advice
