1956 235 truck block #3764476 head # 3836848 in a 42 3/4t panel
just had it rebuilt and put in hydraulic lifters at low idle oil shoots about 1 inch plus out the rocker holes i can't adjust lifters while running oil goes everywhere oil gage reads about 40 pounds is this right? can i adjust lifters cold?

don't know i could pull a lifter what do i look for?
the lifters are loud?

been doing a little looking on the web looks like this block was made for solids when it was rebilt a hydraulic cam was used so it looks like the cam and lifters have to be changed what do you think?
