Does anyone know if the '62 and '63 Chevy II door panels and rear panels will interchange? I have a 2dr hardtop, and cannot seem to find replacment panels for a '62. I'm not concerned if the grain, pattern and material are different between the years.

Any info. from someone who has been there and done it would be very helpful....

Thanks much,

Bob

According to Bob's profile, he doesn't appear to be a VCCA member.

Thanks everyone, as always...

I called SMS and you have to send in an old door panel to have them make a new set from.

Hey everyone, thought I'd put this on for the future if someone needed it. The '62 and '63-'64 door panels themselves will interchange, although the cosmetic emblems will be different, varing by year. But if that is not an issue for you, everything else lines up just fine. Bobalouie

So, what did you wind up doing for your '62??

I'm also curious as to where they came from, if there was a vendor involved....

Bill.

I just ordered front and rear (it's a 2 dr. hardtop) panels from Classic Industries out of CA. They weren't positive that they would fit for the '62, but were 98% sure...

Anyway, they are not technically correct, pattern-wise, as they are the '63 style emblems, but for my daily driver I didn't get hung up on that.

I just wanted to let people know that the overall shape, size, and holes are the same.

Good info for Nova guys for future reference. I was curious because around 1971 I bought a nice little low-milage 62 Red hardtop. Must have been sorta like yours. It was my first sorta "old" car; but it was really just a 'used' car. I put pipes and chrome reversed wheels on it and it was a blast. My daily driver and lotsa fun.

(I was a fairly young advertising sales guy in those days and many of my big shot adv clients drove Caddy's and such. They all wanted to go to lunch so they could ride in "Fuller's red Nova" so they could listen to the pipes. HA! What a deal! They loved my little Nova that I had around $1300 invested in!)

Well anyway, I'd bet dollars to dimes 99% won't know the diff between 63 and 62 door panels and side panels. And no doubt the new ones look much better than the tired, old originals. Good move on your part, Bob.

If you have 1/2 as much fun with yours as I did with mine, you'll be laughing and giggling all the way....

Bill.
