Today I turned on the ignition switch to my 37MD. And the amp meters needle went to discharge, just past center peg. First time its ever did that. When its running, it will charge just fine. After trying this a few times, it did every time. Is this a problem that's going to get worse? Thanks,

If the points are closed in the distributor (and they usually are) when you turn on the ignition, the amp meter will read three or four amps on the discharge side.

Joe
I would consider that as "normal" and not worry about it.

Thanks for the info on this guys. I was thinking that I had a ignition switch or amp meter or something going on it. Thanks,
