How far up the sides are windshield rubber mounting gaskets suppose to extend?

the ones i got from Steele rubber co were cut to length, ie, no excess. i installed them so that they bottomed out on the lower horizontal rubber W/S. i'd guess they extended about 3" above the top of the windshield when said windshield was in its down most position. Steele's repos were the exact same length as the originals i removed earlier. mike

Mike, did you need to trim the top portion of rubber?
My new strips will not fit into the metal brackets at the top unless I trim the rubber down to basically just the window channel portion.

no, the ones i got from steele were the exact length as the originals. unfortunatly, i didn't record the dimensions and the windshield is back in the 29. mike

PS: i did have top trim the lower horizontal rubber seal. mike
