fastners to attach the rear spare tire mounting bracket to the body : were they hex head bolts or carraige bolts and were they painted body color or were they natural and if natujral, cad, chrome or what? thanks guys, mike

The type of fasteners used on the rear tire carrier is listed in the 1929-32 Chevrolet parts book. Ya just gotta get ya one of them things. ha ha! At any rate, according to the parts book a hex head bolt was used. No finish is listed. However, I have seen them both black and plain. \:D \:D \:D

JunkYardDogJunkYardDog were they tall hex head? about twice the height of a modern hex head.The ones on my sedan were like that.I found a near perfect replacement at Snyders **** parts.In the model T section

The hex head bolts used back in the early 1930's had taller heads than the hex head bolts used today.

I'm going to use polished stainless hex head, since no finish was listed.

PAPA-K I do go on ocassion ,I have a model A that I bought in 1964 and restored back then plus nine Chevrolets from 1931 up to the wifes late model Monte Carlo.No I am not a flathead man stovebolts are my thing,and I like them all.
