When I see old chevys on ebay or owners in general selling parts or cars they mostly seem to be in Oregon or Washington state. The second area is Wisconsin . Even the Vendors seem to be in the Northwest. How did that happen? Any ideas? There's a nice orginal 38 coupe I've been watching on ebay ($12,500 so far)and it's in Oregon. How did all these old chevys end up in that area? What attracted them?

......it is called supply and demand. Contrary to what the present thinking is "Spend and tax, go broke and get baildout"

There was a lot of VCCa members in these locations and they all wanted cars, so they bought, fixed them up and drove them till they got too old to cope with the crazies on the roads now a days so they are trying to recover some of their investment.

Geez, I seem to find just the opposite. Seems like every dang car I'd be even remotely interested in is in Fla or Ala or someplace a ka-jillion miles from Ory-gun.

Whatever....

Here's an example.

If this car was closer I might be buying this if it stays low in price.

mad patriot pigs If you think it is tough trying to find an old car that isn't all rusted out, stripped, or made into a rod, or is reasonably priced, try looking around New York State. I have been looking for a GOOD coupe, '38 to '48 for several years. I have seen a few but they all seem to be up and down the west coast. I had to have my '38 2dr shipped in from Salt Lake City and that added $1,000.00 to the cost and that was 6 or 7 years ago!! No telling what it would cost today. Beamer

I had to laugh when you said the second area is Wisconsin. Most of what I find here is rotted badly. I have just accepted that traveling is part of buying a vehicle. In the last few years I have traveled to New Mexico, Arizona, Long Island, Pensylvania twice, New Jersey, Central Michigan, a couple trips to Indiana, one to ohio, one to Iowa, and I'm sure there are a few I've forgotten. The trip to get the car becomes part of the thrill. Plus a chance to meet other car enthusiasts from different areas and see some countryside. If you see something you like , go for it! You'll be glad you did. My last road trip was 2 stops and 1100 miles in less than 24 hours. The hardest part is fitting the trips in around work. If you have 2 drivers you can easily cover 2000 miles in a weekend.
