Check out the Imperial / Convertible Landau on Ebay -- 1929 Chevrolet. A couple of us think the "original" part is a tad soft. Nice car anyway.

Does anyone consider it odd he only shows this one picture to emphanize the let-down-top feature? That is the redeeming feature for this car.

If it is original that is the first one I ever saw painted black.

Here is the link to the eBay auction:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevrolet...618131541QQrdZ1

The seller says that 296 were made. Chevrolet says 300 were made. However, it seems like there are more of these puppies floating around today than were supposedly made back in 1929!

But what the heck, that's nothing new. It's the same with most (all ??) 'rare' cars.

More modern examples are '57 283 FI cars and '62 340 horse Corvettes, etc. etc.

"Counterfeit" doesn't just relate to $20's or Benjamin's these days!!

Same old deal - caveat emptor - especially on ebay!!!

Bill.

Yes, thoses and 1957 convertibles are the only body styles that are more numerous now than when new.

That car sure is a good one. I agree that the seller should have shown the top in operation.
Only clue is a few wrinkles appearing in the picture of inside back quarter.

Rare (and neat looking) car and all but that key chain fob doesn't look like any I've got. Seems like I've seen 'em tho. Maybe at a car dealer place.

Gee, whadda ya think??

I think buyer beware!!

i just think the exterior color and the interior fabric are "not Original" as stated by the seller. the top mechanism appeares to be that of a convert. landau. mike

The person selling this car sold at least 1 other of these models some years ago.

Did he sell it or did he not make his reserve and this is that one again? Maybe he's making them in his basement!
One thing though, no hot rodder would want it with the partial rag top. Though have you seen the 29 pick up with the all steel roof? Interesting concept!
