Hello friends,
today was (is) the day of my 1931. Had to go to technical inspection to get the sticker for another two years driving.
What's that? All vehicles, no matter new or old, must have a complete technical inspection by an independent organisation, which was founded anytime around the 1850ties to check railway steam locomotives. It's called TUEV.

TUEV means "technischer Ueberwachungs Verein", engl.: "technical supervising company", and the rules are hard and strict. A car is a car, and even vintage cars drive in today traffic under today conditions, and they must be as safe as possible. In case of an accident with dead people nobody will ask "was he killed by a new or by a vintage car?" And that means test on a brake test stand like modern cars, checking of exhaust fumes, adjustment of lights and everything you can imagine like safety for the invironment, so no oil drops at underside...not easy with a leaker like this old chevy...
But, now short version: I got it without any problem! Nothing found...was very happy and the engeneer was impressed. Brakes were 180/180 at front, 200/205 rear and 150/155 hand brake, the man said, he could not imagine, a 79 year old car could have brakes like that...and because he is a teacher in that organisation too he took lots of pictures of some details like shock absorbers and stop light switch to show his pupils...

Gave my sweety a big kiss and drove home very happy...

the crazy blocking wheel story is not over, but getting better. Must first have to do with wearing in the linings, and I found a second possible reason: As you know, there are two pull-back springs between the "normal" brake linings (not handbrake), connected by a short wire. Did see at two wheels that "wire" was a bit bent, not straight, and did sratch a bit at the nut behind it (Which it should not touch normally). Maybe this did disturb the linings a bit, making them not coming back 100% after letting out the brake pedal...did correct and it went better...
am still analyzing that thing...
