Starting the tear down of my 31 Landau Phaeton and was researching the color and trim codes.

Job # 31571
Body Trim T 344
Trim # 15
Paint # 74

I was able to research the color as being Daphnis Green with I assume English Grey Fenders.

The body trim has me stumped.

The interior trim meant leather cushion and back, the side panels were simulated.

Any idea if this is correct? Some of the color infomation is from the link provided to matching the color. Some is from the 1931 Chevrolet News from Chevy Acres.

I did notice in several areas that I was taking apart the tell tale sign of this Daphnis Green. The rear fender well as the drip moulding around the rear deck lid.

Not sure where I will head with color, but most of the Landau Phaetons I see are cream.

You can get a lot information from this site. I'm sure more answers will come along.

"I was able to research the color as being Daphnis Green with I assume English Grey Fenders."

Actually the fenders would have been black, unless it was a special deluxe Landau Phaeton then I could have colored fenders. They were black with the color on the top side only.

"The body trim has me stumped.

I am not sure what has you stumped. The seats were a brown leather and other upholstery (door panels and side panels) were a similar color imitation leather.

The T 344, Could find no reference to it. That had me stumped. I am then puzzled as to why the body code would say the fenders were a different color than what they were in acutality.

The rest is crystal clear.

I don't know where you got a paint code for Paint No. 74 that had anything to do with the fenders. All those that I have only have body parts listed and none of the chassis sheet metal.

I did come across something later about the T standing for Terrytown. Neat to know the number it was based on how many produced that year. Thanks!

So the business about upper body and lower body mean nothing about fenders. Two tone then?

The advise to buy the paint specification (engineering) sheet is a good one. It will show the colors for each body and hood part. It may be a bit confusing at first but if you study it for a while it will begin to make sense. Just remember the names for the parts are the same on the paint color combination listing and engineering sheets.
