Bama31 Shade Tree Mechanic Registered: 11/11/08 Posts: 113 Loc: Huntsville, AL	Is there any reason why I can't use a regular engine stand to hold the engine from my 31? I see a lot of guys making wood dollies to sit the engine on, but that makes if very tough to work on. AntiqueMechanic Registered: 12/02/01 Posts: 7532 Loc: Vancouver, WA	Unless you have a very heavy duty stand it is not advised to use a stand if connected to the back of the engine. I have a heavy duty engine stand (rear mount) rotator and always hook a cherry picker to the front of the engine when wrenching parts on or off of a straight six Chevy engine.
