I believe the 30 is for 1930 551 is the model-coach- the letter J is for the factory branch the car was assembled at-and the #3524 was the 3,524th built to that time-i am not sure the 30 tag is the same as 32 but if it is then the paint and trim number will be on the tag also-I,m sure someone with a 30 can help out with where to find the information.

The paint and trim numbers were not on the Fisher Body cowl plate in 1930. Originally, the paint number was stamped on the left main sill, but very rarely is it found.

Only the later '30 models had the paint combination numbers stamped in the drivers side main sill. I don't remember the date it was effective. May have a chance to look it up tomorrow.

"Only the later '30 models had the paint combination numbers stamped in the drivers side main sill."

That is incorrect Chippy Dippy. In the October issue of the 1929 Chevrolet Service News it states: "Starting approximately October 1st (1929), the production department will stamp the color combination in which the car is finished on the left body sill just inside of the left front door." ;\) \:D \:D \:D
