I need to find some information on the way a 1931 sedan body should be mounted. I need to know that what I see is suppose to be what I see. It appears that the body was thrown together. Can anyone helP?

I'm just about to remove my 31 Sedan body from the frame. Are you asking how it is attached to the frame? I found 8 bolts in all (4 carriage bolts with square nuts, 2 square bolts with square nuts, and 2 hex bolts with hex nuts).

I have not yet pulled the interior out to see the bolts. what are their locations if you don't mind my anking. Also I looked under from the bottom and I see a wooden platform or floorboard. Is that right.

Sure. There are two major wood rails of the body that sit on the steel frame. The bolts fasten through these rails to the frame. The two long hex bolts are at the very front end of the body (one on each side). The carriage bolts are located (one on each side) at the front edge of the front seat, and about in the middle of the back door opening. The two square bolts are located (again one on each side) in the back through a steel corner brace which would be below the back seat. You will have to do some disassembling of the interior to get to these bolts. The back ones will be under a steel floor pan. The very front ones are easily accessed if you take out the canted wood floor beneath the firewall.

I forgot to mention that the carriage bolts have a rectangular steel plate beneath the heads to keep them from digging into the wood.

Thank you very much, this is a big help. My 31 has good bones, but it has been turned into a hot rod. I want to do more of a restro mod. I am beginning to pick it apart to see where I stand.
