Yes,remove the inside center garnish molding to relive pressure and it should snap off.

Hmmm, There's a lip about 1/16 on the back, you might try some kind of small hook to pull that out while prying up. Or it could be stuck with adhesive or sealer try to get a thin blade behind it. Maybe loosing some ot the L & R garnish molding screws if you haven't already. There's nothing holding it but the windsheild gasket pushing against the back.
Sounds like you just gotta keep fussing with it till you get it.

Using a jumper wire clip one end onto the "Batt" terminal on the regulator and touch the other end of the jumper wire to the generator terminal on the regulator to get a spark. The generator is now polarized. Also, you shop manual tells you how to do the procedure as well.

Glamourstock: 296 were built... and 412 remain!! willy

In all seriousness now, you're going to have to read this thread through, then add your numbers to the list they have going. They certainly are not near as rare as all of the internet sellers are advertising...

http://vcca.org/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/162597/1

While you're at it, add a picture. They truly are beautiful cars!

Hi There and welcome to Chevy Chatter II. Glad to have you with us!

Actually a lot of the 1929 Convertible Landaus still exist since thousands of them were made.

What is the body number on the cowl tag on your car?

Also, for a more expanded discussion you might want to post further questions about your 1929 in the 1929-32 forum so that other 1929 collectors will see your post as well.

Good luck with your 1929.
