Will any of the radios shown in the 1938 accessory booklet mate with a 1938 Delco radio head? The Delco head appears to look like the Chevy radio heads with the exception of the bowtie on the dial face.

The 1938 radio (all models)is the most difficult radio to find all the correct components. The boxes (tuning and electrical unit) are fairly easy to locate. The control head bezel is the most difficult unit. The speaker is a one year only speaker due to the special plug on the end of the speaker wire. The bezels are not interchangeable, that is the Chevrolet bezel will not fit the Delco control head and the Delco control head will not fit the Chevrolet head. The complete control head and bezel as a unit is interchangeable.

Ray, is the bezel the control head face plate? Are the round dials and knobs the same on Chevy and Delco. I have an NOS Delco radio head for a 1938 I was thinking of mating it to a Chevy radio. Will this work with any of the Chevy 1938 radios except the push button unit? If the heads look the same I was thinking of altering the dial face to have the bow tie emblem to look "correct". Your comments and thought are very much appreciated.

Yes, the bezel is the face plate the control head goes through for mounting. Either head will work with all 38 radios.
