Does anyone know a modern color that is a reasonably close match for 1939 Chev paint code 247 (Woodash Brown) as used on the sedan delivery?

Seeing your a VCCA member i would suggest checking with the technical advisor....also confirm if a sedan delivery was available in that color.

I have a US built 1939 sedan delivery (RHD)with paint code 247 on the body tag, so this color was offered.

It looks like my car may have been used as a rescue or government vehicle of some sort. It is now a faded red (very well painted as all edges and areas under trim areas are red) but I'll be repainting and am thinking about going back to the original color if reasonably attractive... I'm not confident that the on-line color chips are true to the original color and I thought that I had seen references to modern equivalents for old codes somewhere, so hope that someone may have this info on hand.

By the way - is the sedan delivery a car or truck for approaching the VCCA technical advisor when I have questions? It seems to be a tweener and I only see a specific sedan delivery advisor for 1937-38. Lots of (rotten) wood framing in the sedan delivery even though cars were nearly all metal by 1939!

Chevrolet listed it with trucks as in the Truck Data Book. In the parts book it listed with cars. In advertising material it was a truck.
I would recommend Ted Holz, the T.A. as its just about all car and he has a wagon.
I think there was a 1939 sedan on the cover of the G&D in that color in the past few months.

I'm pretty sure Chevrolet called it a "commercial" vehicle. So I presume it would be with trucks....

Yes for judging no for the TA. Nothing on a sedan delivery fits a 1/2 ton panel.....other than the engine.

Very wise. The color you see on your computer depends on the monitor, it's settings and it's drivers.
