I'm organizing a car show to raise money to restore a magnificent old theater locally called The Burford. It was turned into a movie theater in the 40s or 50s and a multi screen in the 80s. When it was shut down it was sold for $1 to the local arts council who are raising money to restore it to it's original, turn of the century grandeur. Trying to give back to my community I approached the council with the idea of having a car show downtown in front of the theater this spring. It took a bit of time to get everyone to buy into the idea (arts council, convention bureau, city fathers, downtown merchants, etc.) but we're finally on the way. Anyone living within driving distance is welcome to participate. Here is the flyer/entry form.

Good luck on the show. Hope you get a BIG pile of money. Any fund raisers for charity with car shows helps the image of us old car people in the eyes of the general public. We will need the support of our fellow citizens in the future.

I'm REALLY disappointed to say that the show may be in jeopardy. The folks who control the building are making changes contrary to the info I had. Please disregard the original post. blush
