Could anyone tell me the year of an engine with the following identification numbers? The numbers on the block beside the distributor are 0566130, F255X, CON 3, C145 The number on the bell housing is 370283 The numbers on the head are 8885913, BM 16 The number on the flywheel is 3705410
I think that the engine came out of a 55, 56 or 57 chevrolet truck but I am not sure.
I am new to this "on line chat" and enjoy reading the questions and responses. I am impressed with the wealth of knowledge that you guys all have about vintage Chevrolets.
I have a 1937 Master Deluxe Business Coupe.
Thank you for the responses!

There is a website out there called Stovebolt Sixes, or something to that effect. Someone has compiled a listing for head, block, and trannies if I rememeber correctly. I am sure if you google it you will find it.

I know that this engine has the high pressure oil system and insert rods bearings. Is there any way of knowing if this engine has hydraulic lifters. If not, can I install hydraulic lifters without changing the camshaft and/or pushrods?
Thanks
