I am rebuilding the engine on vehicle. When taking the the oil pump apart the spring and 2 blades fell out. I cannot find any information or pictures to make sure I put them back together. Parts appear excellent.Looking from the bottom of the pump should the blades be pointed to the left or right?

Maybe the 27 oil pump drawing will help: I couldn't find a 1926 but from your discription it isn't like the 1925 which is external and a gear pump. This drawing is from the 1927 Repair manual that is posted on Keith Hardy's web site here is the link: 1927 Chevrolet Repair Manual

That picture is exactly what I needed. The 26 manual does not have a break down like your picture. Another possibly dumb question. How is the valves and rockers lubricated? I don't see any way oil can get up there and the manual does not mention pouring a cetain amount of oil up there. I know about the felt pad and the oil rings around the rods. Do I just pour some on hthe pad and not worry about it?

It will be necessary to place some oil in the depression for #1 & #2 and in the depression for #3 & #4. Put enough to bring the level up to about 1/2 way. The top pad will help some with the rocker arms. Be sure you have the felt"O" rings on each rocker arm on the pushrod side. They need to be oiled about each time you take a long trip.

Gary Wallace and probably other 1912 - 1930 Chevrolet parts vendorssell a oil squirt can and a holder that fastens on the firewall under the hood for the purpose of oiling the rockers and valves on your 1926 Chevrolet. Gary Wallace website and online catalog: http://www.20schevyparts.com/
