Saw this on E-bay... Buy it now set at $255,000. !! Apparently the car from the Henry Ford Museum. Seller can't be too interested in selling with a price like that. I know they are rare, but...??
Please tell me the reserve is lower, or there goes another dream club I wanted in on!

I have a couple of pictures of that vehicle that were taken when it was in the Henry Ford Museum. They were taken in 1985 when on one of my trips to Detroit while working for GM.

The D5 in Iowa is in the Albaugh Colection and is Car No.2-6382. It was restored by Glen Honeyman and was Best of Show at the Nashville 1991 Anniversary. Glen bought this D5 from the legendary Chevrolet Dealer Wayne McKinley who at one time or another has owned about one half of the Model D's that survived.
I believe Luke's ex Henry Ford Museum D5 was giving by the Chevrolet Motor Division in the late 1930's to the museum. It is actually a 1919 D5, built in November 1918 as Car No. 1-1270. It is a great original car!

The guy that owns the car was a club member in the Greater South Bay club in San Jose, Ca. He was at the Palo Alto Concours parked next to my 31 coupe. His name is Luke Rizzuto. He was one of the cars that were trying to get the Great Race going last year. I also have pictures that I took of it at the Palo Alto show. vcca

There is a 1917 model D in original condition in Lititz, Penna. It has been in the same family since new and was purchased for one of the original owner's sons to drive on his honeymoon in 1917. The family still uses it in their family weddings, and they aptly refer to it as the "Honeymoon" car.

Hi All,

I've seen the Honeymoon car the last two years that we've gone to Hershey. Actually the Honeymoon car has been redone some. Warren said when they redid the wood trim and they made it to dark when staining it.

Funny story about this car, a friend bought a D4 which needs everything and is in the process of getting the project started, we have been looking for cars to look at as reference for his project. Like I have been doing with my 32 phaeton for the last 9 years. Anyway a friend with one of the companies that I work with, who is a member of the AACA, was telling me about a V8 someone that he worked with who had a V8 in the family. Turns out it was the Honeymoon car.

Warren has been very helpful to Ardie as to finding some of the parts that he needs.
