Universal Electric Cooling Fans. I am looking for an electric cooling fan for my truck. It needs to be a (6) volt model because my truck is a (6) volt system. Do you have a fan for (6) volt systems? My problem is that I can't find a small diameter standard fan to fit my engine. My current blade hits the bottom pulley and is too close to the radiator. Please help!!!!!!!! Thank you...

Does your '53 have a later 235 installed?
"55-62" If so Jim Carter and other vendors sells a adapter plate to run a 216 water pump with the shorter shaft, and it will put the fan in the center of the radiator where it belongs.

Here's what I installed on my '36 pickup--on the front of the radiator. It's virtually invisible when looking thru the grille.

I have the same fan as Winowally installed on my 40, completely out of sight, got it from chev's of the 40's, supposed to equivelent to 30 mph, don't beleive it's that high, but holds the temperature at 180 when stopped at idle on an upper 90's day. Very happy with the performance.........
