Anyone used the Cars for clunkers to get a new Chevrolet Economy car?
What kind of a deal did you get??????
Was there a lot of red tape to wade thru?

I traded in my 1950 6 passenger Chevrolet. Now I have a 4 passenger Aveo. It will save a lot of gas because its too small to get into and we can't drive it. But now some poor soul in Korea has a job.

Looked at the row of cars taken in on trade at the local Chev, dealer. A few looked like they were worse than junk, the majority were pretty nice vehicles. Some real nice looking S-10 trucks and Blazers. /While the engines will be NG, there will be some nice sheet metal, tires, wheels, etc. to salvage. I wonder how much of the good stuf will be shredded?

Like all government projects, common sense will not prevail. And then the stories of corruption and cheating will hit the news in a month or so. Why do you think this program will be different than any other government run program. Country has no bearing, it is the same all over the world.

Don't believe for a minute that Gene would trade his 50 in on a 2009 anything. Besides a clunker can't be over 25 years old.....

They will all be shredded, if you turn your clunker in you will get the rebate from uncle sugar plus the price for the junk iron.
My 1988 GMC Serria 2500 extended cab with a 350, 5 speed manual OD, electric windows locks, cruise, power and towing package, gooseneck hitch will get $4500 in on a new Chevy car or truck plus I get the money from the salvage of the crushed truck. Anyone want to buy it from me for $3000 and make it a clunker rebate truck, if you need a new truck or a new Caddy or Lexus?

Indian Motorcycle is running a "Cash for Clunkers" program with the New Motorcycles. You have to trade in a roadworthy bike, and get $3,000 off. They are also running a deal for getting your first 6 months on the house. I won't be able to get one until sometime next year.
