Hello everyone, this is my first post.
I D/L'd an online manual but the scan is not clear enough to read the electrical schematic.
Have a non running stock 54 150. Has the original 6 volt system in it.
I thought this was a positive ground system BUT they have the negative going to ground.
Looks to me like it has brand new plugs that were never fired so I suspect that they couldn't get it started. Perhaps because they put the battery in wrong?
Question one: is this a positive ground system?
Question 2: if it is pos grd could they have changed it to negative ground? If you think they may have changed it how do I know?
Question 3: what damage could have been done if they attempted to wire the negative to ground by mistake?
I presume someone is going to say you have to repolarize the generator for neg or positive grd. How do you do that?
The battery is stone cold dead and I am trying to get it to take a charge so I have -0- power right now.
Thanx in advance

I think the only GM that used positive ground was GMC.
