The car was originally a gold color, so was the dash, kick panels. etc. This time it will be red, but not sure I want that on the dash. Maybe a dull black for less reflections. What do you think? Opinions welcome. Happy motoring. Curt

I have done several of the 64 dashes. I used SEM vinyl spray on the metal dash and it matched the look of the original dash and held up good to the sun on it. It dries to a semi gloss finish like the original when used on metal. It can also be clear coated for use on the steering wheel to match the dash. The color that matches the 64 red is Firethorn Red. I got the last can at NAPA within the last year so it should be available yet.

I went with some old dull black lacquer, and am satisfied with the results. Thanks for the comments.
