Does anyone know if Ida's is still in business? I haven't dealt with them in years, but had tried recently because I need a LH door latch assembly for my 39 Mstr Dlx. Web site is still active at:
http://www.idaschevs.com/

However, the phone is disconnected and emails go unanswered.

Thanks!

Thanks Tim. By the way, do you have an extra driver's door latch assembly? 37 to 39 use the same part. Take care!

I believe I have both a passenger and driver's side door latch from a '39 Master Deluxe if you don't find them elsewhere. Beamer

Bill, If you're really coming all the way down here, you might as well come get me and we'll go to the Canby Swap Meet (Sun only). We can do that in addition to checking up on Ida....

Bill.

Hey guys, Thanks for checking this out. I was hoping somebody would drive by. I've dealt with Ida in the past and was always pleased with the customer service. Thanks again!

Hey Guys, I just called the number Gary posted (360.993.0460) and had a nice little chat with Ida. She is definitely "open for business." She concentrates on 1937-1948 passenger cars. She also said she has lots of other stuff. As she said, "I'm (still) here and will always do the best I can to help folks find what they're looking for." Amen....

One of my biggest pet peeves !! Some companies, and not just small companies, put up websites and walk away from them. No checking emails, no updating, no nothing. They don't seem to understand that a website is not just a billboard, but a "living", interactive communication medium that needs to be monitored and maintained on a regular bassis.

OK, stepping down from the soap box now............

I'd suggest you guys quit whining about the www and email and that crap and just pick up the phone and call her. I did. She answered and we had a nice chat. And I wasn't even calling for biz. Just to see what was up because of all the questions about if she was still in business. Gary visited her location. I called her. What more do you need?????

If she is not going to answer emails from her web site then she should take it down. She does not have a catalog so it's nice to have an updated web page with her current inventory. I am sure she is a very nice person but I know in years past I would ask her about ordering a certain part from her site and would say she does not have that part anymore. My pet peave also. Ok my rant is over.

Hey Bruce, Great to hear from ya! As they say, Leopards rarely change their spots. Whether here or at work or at church or wherever. Always good to hear from ya. I love your way of cutting to the chase. Take care up there....

Tim, I sure understand what you're saying. I hardly remember Ida from 25-ish years ago when she worked for Ron at Chev's of the 40's. I do recall she was always nice, polite, helpful, etc. Now that she's on her own (at "Ida's"), I get the feeling she's more-or-less just a one horse operation. And maybe doesn't work her business too hard. I understand that doesn't work for some folks. There's many other vendors to deal with if her business practises don't work for some of "us." I've always had great results dealing with Steve and his crew at The Filling Station in Lebanon, Oregon.
